Learning to apply false eyelashes is like riding a bike. It takes a little practice, but once you get it, it’s a piece of cake. Begin by applying your daily make-up first. Apply a coat of mascara on your own eyelashes. This will help create a stronger hold for the false lash as well as give your eyes a bolder look. Placing mascara on the false lashes will damage them making them unable to be reused. Place the lash over the base of your natural lash line. If the false lash doesn’t match, cut off excess length from the outer corner. Use small trim scissors to get a get an accurate cut. Once the eyelashes have been measured and trimmed to fit your eye, coat the top edge of the lash with adhesive. Be especially generous with the adhesive on the ends of the lash, this is where they need a strong hold. Once the adhesive is on, wait twenty seconds or so and blow on it to help the glue set. Carefully place the edge of the lash along your natural lash line; press in and down from end to end. Make sure the eyelash is lined against your own lash line. If a small section is a little off, you can lift and reapply the adhesive. To cover the edges and give it a natural finish, cover the top edge of the lash with liquid eyeliner. This will help cover the glue and blend the lash into your lash line.
There are numerous eyelash styles to choose from when purchasing your new lashes. Choose the style that will best match the shape of your natural eyelashes. The false eyelashes are usually good for four to five uses if you take good care of them. The top two adhesives are Shu Umera Eyelash Adhesive and Duo Eyelash Adhesive Clear-White. They both provide a strong long lasting hold and are gentle to the eye.
