While doctors say you should be drinking about eight glasses of water a day, you should be drinking more than that in summer because of the heat. It’s very easy to become dehydrated in the summer months, and it’s hard to keep drinking water all the time to stay hydrated. Stock up on some of these healthy foods that help keep you hydrated when you’re not chugging water.

-->Cucumbers: They’re a fresh, crisp treat in the summer time to cool down, and they’re delicious too! The truth is cucumbers are made up of mostly good ol’ H2O. The extra water will help keep you hydrated, but they’re also rich in vitamin C. Bonus!

-->Melon: Watermelon, cantaloupe and even honeydew melon are excellent sources of hydration in the summer. Again, these fruits are made up of mostly water, but they are a delicious sweet treat after being outside in the summer sun all day. Keep some fresh melon in your fridge to snack on to stay hydrated.

-->Grapefruit: Aside from the obvious juice, there are many great vitamins and minerals you can benefit from in a grapefruit. This tart citrus fruit can help you stay bikini ready, as it is an appetite suppressant. It’s great to snack on in between meals to curb hunger.

-->Fresh Berries: Berries really are nature’s candy in summertime. Not only are they sweet and delicious, but also they are packed with antioxidants and vitamins that keep your skin looking young and fresh. Stay hydrated and young looking eating blueberries, strawberries, blackberries and cherries.

-->Celery: People always say celery is wonderful because it is “negative calories,” being mostly water and the energy it takes to eat it. However, this crisp refreshing vegetable is also a great source of mineral salts and vitamins. It’s another great option to stay hydrated and revitalize the body.
